Two Lovecraft Symposia

I've captured similar images, but I di try to capture variations and as many extant copies as I have time for.

[Lovecraft, H.P.]: FRESCO Vol. 8, No. 3. Detroit, University of Detroit, [1958]. Slender octavo. Printed, stapled wrappers. Edited by Steve Eisner. Covers a bit rubbed, yapped edges lightly used, but a near very good copy with a few check marks in pen in the text.

The special “Howard Phillips Lovecraft Memorial Symposium” issue of the THE UNIVERSITY OF DETROIT QUARTERLY, devoted entirely to Loveraft. An early academic recognition of the author, with contributions by Fritz Leiber, Joseph Payne Brennan, August Derleth, David H. Keller, Samuel Loveman et al, and The Music of Erich Zann by Lovecraft.

'A philosophy should be judged on what it can tell us about
Lovecraft...' (Graham Harman)
A unique one-day symposium dedicated to exploring H. P. Lovecraft’s
relationship to Theory.
The event will not follow the ordinary format of the academic
conference. Some written materials will be circulated beforehand, but
there will be no papers delivered on the day. Instead, there will be
structured discussions based on five of Lovecraft’s stories:

Fresco Spring 1958 Memorial Symposium

I found this rare item of great interest because of its inclusion of Samuel Loveman. I've not properly traced its origin, but after Lovecraft's death Samuel Loveman became distraught at the revelation of HPL's antisemitic stance - long hidden from his colleagues and friends. It would be interesting if he had given his bitterness pause to write an essay in this memorial work.

The University of Detroit Quarterly Fresco, Volume 8, No. 3 from Spring 1958. This issue was published as the Howard Phillips Lovecraft Memorial Symposium and is 100 percent related to Lovecraft. It featured the work of Joseph Payne Brennan, August Derleth, David H. Keller, Fritz Leiber, and more including a bibliography and The Music of Erich Zann by H.P. Lovecraft.
