With some effort using a combination of excel, access, and word (I'm no programmer) I took Dagon as found in dagonbytes and parsed it. I used to do this years ago with another collleague whom I've lost touch with, and thought that 2010 would be a good year to resurrect some of that old research - which is now long lost. Or maybe on some floppy disk. Who can remember!

We can quickly determine what makes Lovecraft's words different. It's well known that he rarely uses "her" or any reference to the female unless he was redacting someone else's fiction. We see that here.

Dagon is about the sea, so water, boat, land (a Hegelian dualism contrast), ocean appear.

Then we see truly Lovecraftian words: sun, moon, night, day. Astronomy permeated Lovecraft's writing.

Think upon these things, and more tomorrow.
