Two authors of note, August Derleth, Sauk City, Wisconsin novelist, and Don Wandrei, New York, who has written two volumes of poetry "Ecstasy" and "Dark Oddyssey," arrived here today to be guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Galpin, 726 E College avenue. They have come here to consult with Mr. Galpin who is instructor in French at Lawrence college, about the publication of a memorial volume of the works of Howard Philips Lovecraft, who died recently.
Lovecraft, a disciple of Poe was considered by mnay to be one of the best mystery story writers.
Derleth is the author of some five or six books, his latst being a historical novel. "Still Is the Summer Night" the first volume in a series on Wisconsin. An earlier Wisconsin novel by him is "Place of Hawks." He and Mr. Wandrei came here from Milwaukee, where they were guests of Maurice Winetr Moe, who formerly taught English at Appleton High school. They will be here about two days.
