DR: You were recently featured in Weird Tales for your H.P. Lovecraft-inspired artwork. Can you talk a bit about that?
Steven: H.P. Lovecraft was an incredibly important writer of speculative fiction, and his work has been a huge influence on me, as it has been for many other artists. It’s been a great deal of fun to play with that pantheon and aesthetic.
DR: Why do you think Lovecraft’s writing attracts people of various cultural backgrounds, despite some of his negative and well-known personal views on race?
